CROSS CARMALOSE SODIUM
Cross-linked Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, commonly known as Crosscarmellose Sodium, is a modified cellulose polymer. It is synthesized from cellulose by reacting it with sodium chloroacetate and then cross-linking the resulting carboxymethyl cellulose with a suitable cross-linking agent.
GRADE: IP / BP / EP / USP - NF
APPLICATIONS:
1. PHARMACEUTICALS:
Crosscarmellose sodium is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations as a disintegrant.
It helps tablets and capsules break apart rapidly when they come into contact with moisture or fluids, facilitating the release and absorption of active ingredients in the body.
2. FOOD INDUSTRY:
Crosscarmellose sodium is also used in the food industry as a disintegrant and thickening agent in food formulations such as powdered drink mixes, seasoning blends, and instant food products.
