DICALCIUM PHOSPHATE 

Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP) is a calcium phosphate salt that is commonly found in rocks and minerals. It is a white, odorless powder with the chemical formula CaHPO4.

APPLICATIONS:


1. FOOD INDUSTRY:
    Dicalcium phosphate is used as a food additive (E341) in the food industry. It is used as a calcium supplement, a leavening agent      in baked goods, a firming agent in canned fruits and vegetables, and a nutrient fortifier in breakfast cereals and enriched flour.

   

2. PHARMACEUTICALS:
    In pharmaceuticals, dicalcium phosphate is used as a source of calcium in dietary supplements and vitamin tablets.
    It is also used as a filler, binder, and diluent in tablet and capsule formulations to give them the required bulk and stability.
    Additionally, it is used as a polishing agent in toothpaste and in oral care products for its abrasive properties.
