GENTIAN VIOLET (CRYSTAL VIOLET)
Gentian Violet, also known as Crystal Violet, is a synthetic dye derived from coal tar. It is a dark blue-violet crystalline powder with antifungal and antibacterial properties.

1. PHARMACEUTICALS:
Gentian violet is used in the pharmaceutical industry as an antiseptic and topical treatment for fungal and bacterial infections of the skin and mucous membranes.
It is commonly used to treat conditions such as oral thrush (candidiasis), vaginal yeast infections, and fungal infections of the skin and nails.
Gentian violet is also used as a histological stain for the detection of fungi and bacteria in laboratory specimens.
Gentian violet is used in veterinary medicine as an antiseptic and antifungal agent for the treatment of skin and ear infections in animals.
It is commonly used to treat conditions such as ringworm, dermatitis, and otitis externa (ear infections) in dogs, cats, and other animals.
