Hydroxy ethyl cellulose (HEC)

Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose through chemical modification. It is commonly used as a thickening, stabilizing, and film-forming agent in various industries due to its excellent rheological properties and biocompatibility.

GRADE: 100000

APPLICATIONS:

1. PHARMACEUTICALS:

In the pharmaceutical industry, HEC is widely used as a thickening agent in oral and topical formulations such as gels,                       ointments, creams, and suspensions.
It improves product viscosity, provides pseudoplastic flow behavior, and enhances product stability.
HEC is also utilized as a sustained-release agent in controlled-release dosage forms.

2. FOOD:

HEC is commonly used in the food industry as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier.
It is added to a wide range of food products, including sauces, dressings, dairy products, beverages, and bakery items, to                   improve texture, increase viscosity, and prevent ingredient separation.
HEC is also used in low-calorie and low-fat food products as a fat replacer and to create a creamy texture.

3. DISINFECTANT:

In disinfectant formulations, HEC is used as a stabilizer and thickening agent to improve product viscosity and consistency.
It enhances the effectiveness and stability of disinfectant solutions, allowing for better adherence to surfaces and prolonged             contact time, thus improving overall disinfection performance.
