Sorbitol 70% is a sugar alcohol derived from glucose. It is a clear, colorless, viscous liquid with a sweet taste.

APPLICATIONS:


1. FOOD INDUSTRY:

   Sweetener: Sorbitol is used as a low-calorie sweetener in various food and beverage products such as sugar-free candies,               chewing gum, baked goods, and dairy products.

   Humectant: It is used as a humectant in food products to prevent them from drying out and to retain moisture. 


2. PHARMACEUTICALS:

     Excipient: Sorbitol is used as an excipient in pharmaceutical formulations such as syrups, suspensions, and chewable tablets. 

      It acts as a sweetening agent, binder, and filler in these formulations.

     Laxative: Sorbitol is used as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation by drawing water into the colon and increasing bowel          movements.

     Precursor: Sorbitol is used in the chemical industry as a precursor in the production of other chemicals such as vitamin C and       surfactants.


3. COSMETICS AND PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS:

     Humectant: Sorbitol is used in cosmetics and personal care products such as toothpaste, mouthwash, and skincare products          as a humectant to retain moisture and prevent drying.

     Texture Modifier: It is used as a texture modifier in creams, lotions, and hair care products to improve consistency and                  spreadability.
